Privacy Policy

Effective June 11, 2026

Makerspace is an indie maker-journal app for documenting personal projects. This policy explains, in plain English, what the app collects, why, how it is stored, and the control you have over it. It covers both the mobile app and the read-only web portfolio viewer.

What we collect and why

Account information

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a username, plus an optional short bio if you choose to add one. We use these to sign you in, secure your account, and display your name and profile on your own portfolio. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and is never stored by us in readable form.

Content you create

Makerspace stores the projects and journal entries you write — titles, descriptions, dates, your entry text, and the tags you apply. We use this only to save your work and show it back to you in the app and on your portfolio.

Photos, videos, and links

When you attach media to an entry, we store the photos and videos you upload, and the URLs of any links you add. Uploaded files are kept in a private storage bucket and are served only through temporary signed links that expire, so they are not publicly accessible. We use this media solely to display it within your own projects.

How your data is stored and protected

Your data is hosted by Supabase, which provides our database, file storage, and authentication. All traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Uploaded media lives in a private bucket reachable only through short-lived signed URLs, and access controls ensure you can only read and write your own data.

Cookies

The web portfolio viewer sets a small number of essential cookies that keep you signed in. These are required for the site to function. We do not use cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking.

What we don't do

We do not run analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone for marketing, and there are no advertising networks in the app.

Who else handles your data

Supabase is our only third-party processor. It provides the hosting, database, storage, and authentication that the app runs on. We do not share your data with any other companies.

Retention and deleting your data

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, projects, entries, and all uploaded media — both the database records and the stored files. Deleting an individual project likewise removes its entries and media. Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered.
